Facility Security Officers are skilled and trained to support our energy client in delivering energy services safely.  In a varied role, their primary responsibility is to ensure the immediate safety and security of the premises and all people on the premises. 

Facility Security Officers are paid $35.87 an hour when working on a full-time basis, or $40.76 an hour when working on a casual basis. In addition to this, penalty rates are paid for working nightshifts between Monday and Friday, and on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. 

• Weekday Shift: $35.87
• Night Shift: $41.70
• Saturday: $49.30
• Sunday: $62.74

In addition, a first aid allowance of $32.10 is paid per week.

The application process involves a face-to-face interview and background checks, including a National Police Check, a Reference check, a Medical Assessment, and Security Qualifications + ID form. 

Before starting work all candidates must also complete Industry Safety Induction training and our energy client's Online Learning Modules.

Candidates will need to travel to attend a face-to-face interview in Karratha. For Medical Assessments, our providers work with candidates to select the most suitable available location.

We’ll get you on site 4-5 days before your first day to get you set up and ready to go when you do start.  You’ll receive an email from us, confirming your accommodation, flights, uniform size, roster and the arrival process.  You’ll pick up your uniform, complete the relevant site induction/s and meet your supervisor, who will explain what your first shift will look like. 

On your first shift, you’ll meet the team and other recruits and get your ID sorted out.  You’ll be paired up with an experienced team member and work 4 consecutive day shifts, shadowing your buddy and learning the role and tasks you’ll be responsible for.  You will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and complete the online elements of your induction as you learn on the job.

The induction is a 4 week, fully paid, purpose-built training program.  To equip you with the skills and knowledge to excel, it includes a mix of classroom learning, on-the-job training, shadowing, and practical skill development.  You'll start with an Industry Safety Induction, which is a one-day training course to prepare you to work at energy facilities in Western Australia.  You will also complete a number of training modules and courses run by our energy client to ensure you are safe and understand the relevant protocols required at each site.

Further training is split into 4 week blocks, where you will spend time learning online systems, getting familiar with the site you’ll be working at, and completing online training modules and externally-run training.

For example, your training roster might include one week training at one site in Karratha over four days and three nights, followed by three weeks at another site in Karratha.

As part of your ongoing training, you will also receive specialised, role-specific training, run by supervisors.  This practical training will help you learn how to manage complex situations that may arise and give you experience and confidence to manage all aspects of your role.

Essential:

• Hold a Western Australian Driver's License.
• Hold a Western Australian Security License - Static Guard/Crowd Control
• Certificate II in Security Operations
• Have received or renewed your CPR cert within the year

Desirable:

• Hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (if not, we will support you in obtaining one).
• Provide Advanced First Aid – HLTAID014 
• Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy – HLTAID015
• Fire Awareness & Extinguisher Course
