We're Recruiting Residential Support Officers
About Maribyrnong Community Residential Facility
This supported residential facility provides short-term accommodation for men exiting the prison system who would otherwise be homeless. Placement at the facility is temporary and supports residents post-release or post-parole as they reintegrate back into the community.
Established in 2020 in partnership with Corrections Victoria (CV), Jesuit Social Services (JSS) and G4S provide onsite services. CV in partnership with Jesuit Social Services provide an environment that is physically and psychologically safe and encourages residents to make prosocial decisions. Onsite case managers assist residents with securing long-term housing and employment, and a nurse supports residents to access physical and mental health services.
G4S provides 24/7 Security to promote safety for people who live at the facility. G4S offer a friendly face and light conversation for people on their exit from the facility or their return. Our security team comprises a Centre Manager, an Administration Manager, five Team Leaders and 18 Residential Support Officers who work together to ensure residents have safe, stable and secure accommodation. This safe, stable and secure accommodation can reduce the risks that can lead to residents reoffending and returning to custody.
The facility includes single-room accommodation, shared communal facilities, living areas, kitchen, administrative offices and outdoor areas, and currently accommodates up to 42 people.
They also do community walks around the site’s perimeter and through each residential area to greet and assist residents, check amenities are working, provide administration and procurement support, and induct and discharge residents.
